Program Overview:

Managing the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is one of the toughest responsibilities HR teams and managers face. The process often becomes even more challenging when there are signs of possible misuse. This engaging and practical training session is designed to provide clear, actionable strategies for addressing suspected abuse while maintaining full compliance with federal laws.

Attendees will gain insight into handling sensitive conversations with employees, requesting medical certification appropriately, and overseeing intermittent leave without crossing legal limits. Using real-life examples and expert guidance, the session will address pressing questions many HR professionals ask, such as:

  • When can you request a second medical opinion?

  • Are you permitted to ask for additional documentation?

  • How should you respond if you suspect an employee is misusing FMLA?
